I make every effort to link to sites offering reliable reference materials on health issues. Be aware that there are many health fraud schemes on the internet. Use common sense when evaluating claims! Terms like "breakthrough", "miraculous" or "ancient remedy" are often signs as are "clinical trials" outside the US.

A Guide to Medical Information and Support on the Internet: The purpose of this guide is to provide the reader with the knowledge and resources for utilizing the different areas of the internet to access medical information and support groups.
Self-Help Clearinghouse: The Self-Help Sourcebook Online is a searchable database that includes information on over 1,100+ national, international and demonstrational model self-help support groups, ideas for starting groups, and opportunities to link with others to develop needed new national or international groups.
Cancer News on the Net: Articles on various cancers, links by cancer type, and to support groups and patient web sites.
Dr. Koop's Community: A project of Empower Health, a company led by Dr. C. Everett Koop and others who are dedicated to improving the quality of people's lives by empowering them to improve their health.
Family Doctor.org: American Academy of Family Physicians offers handouts on many common ailments.
FDA Consumer Magazine: The FDA has uploaded the last 4 years of its monthly magazine which offers articles on timely health subjects.
Medline Plus: National (US) Library of Medicine's search service to access the 9 million citations in MEDLINE and Pre-MEDLINE (with links to participating on-line journals), and other related databases.
Medscape: Aimed at health professionals, this site also offers breaking news and a collection of general health information for patient use.
InteliHealth: Consumer health information in a variety of topics, plus drugstore & other commercial areas.
Net Wellness: Consumer health information and medline, news, referrals, and more.
On Health: Providing consumer health information with articles and briefings about wellness, health and medicine.
RxList - The Internet Drug Index: Info on more than 4,000 drugs on the US market or close to approval.

National Women's Health Information Center: A one-stop gateway for women seeking health information, whether you're a consumer, a health care professional, a researcher, an educator, or a student.
Abortion Clinic's Online: A directory service comprised of providers of abortion services and other reproductive health care plus information on contraception and other issues.
Avon's Breast Cancer Awareness Crusade: facts about breast cancer in the US, breast cancer FAQ, phone numbers of support groups nationwide, a glossary of terms, and background on Avon's Crusade.
La Leche League: Providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0: W3C guidelines explain how to make Web content accessible to people with disabilities.
Watchfire WebXAC (previously "Bobby": WebXACT is a verification tool that scans a web page, checking for a variety of issues, including quality, privacy, and accessibility. It checks against several different standards if you go to the advanced page.
Accessible.Org: The mission of Accessible.Org is to make accessible web designs for nonprofits, government departments and small businesses, especially the Internet home based business, and to do so in the most practical and pragmatic ways possible.
